Heavy Impact Collision in Baltimore, Maryland

On July 20, 2020, at approximately 11:15 a.m., a vehicle operated by an allegedly intoxicated individual drifted into the left shoulder and struck two vehicles on I-695. At the time, the drivers of the stopped vehicles were changing a flat tire. All people involved in the crash were taken to Bayview Medical Center and Sinai Hospital.

Officials said Sean Cordell Bethea, 47, of Baltimore, was driving a silver 2017 Hyundai Sonata when he drifted onto the left shoulder and hit two vehicles. The drivers of both vehicles were on the shoulder changing a flat tire. Bethea was arrested and charged for driving under the influence. Further charges are pending the investigation, police said.
